MU Barnhall 1st XV and Under 20s face difficult but exciting challenges this weekend as they look towards the vital stages of their respective seasons. The 1st XV have 4 games remaining and are 4 points off the play off places currently and face league leaders City of Armagh  this Saturday at home with a 230pm kick off. The blue bulls face a testing final 4 fixtures so all support for our second last fixture at home will prove crucial! The team has a blend of experienced faces but also there are some talented young players proving their worth in the Ulster Bank League this season. The squad are looking to hit top gear this week and build on the positive result they achieved last week in Thomond. There’s a big performance in this team.

Our under 20s are proving to be the “flair” team in the club this year with some really talented players showing that they are going to be serious players for years to come. Averaging 32 points a game and meaner defence of late, they’ll be hoping to wrap up the league title this weekend. They face tough opposition however in second placed Buccaneers so it won’t be all their own way – support will be again appreciated. The squad is made up primarily of MU Barnhall youth graduates with local schools players too and supplemented by our scholarship players within Maynooth University. It is a very tight knit, hardworking squad and it’s proven to be a successful season to date. The squad implore any and all to come and support them in their last home league fixture of the 16-17 season. Who knows you could help them get over the line for the league title!
